Let me clarify. When I wrote that I meant talent as in the sense to beat you one on one or rip a shot. Basically the flashy factor. So let me rephrase; Marquette is a very talented, just in a different way than Arrowhead. They'll beat you playing team ball where as Arrowhead will beat you individually.

Is that not the point of the game it is a team game.  There is a reason there is a 2010 stick rule the concept of team has been lost in guys with extreme speed who can dodge and crank time and time again unstopped.  On top of that i don't see how you can make the point that MUHS has no flash factor his name is James Tjarkson he had easily 3 or 4 one on one dodges from X where he flashed past his pole buried in the net?

We've been using that as an end of practice 'treat' with our youth teams for a while now.  The kids LOVE it.

Milwaukee Select finished their summer tournament schedule up a couple weeks ago and qualified to go to Florida again. Just thought the board should know about this. The results of each tournament are as follows:

Denver Shootout-Finished 17th out of 26 but only lost games by one or two goals. That includes against the champion team. We only had three practices and it was the first tournament. Very inconsistent.

Gait Cup-Don't know the exact finishing spot but went about 7-2. One of the losses was to a super elite division team that gt moved up and the other was the fourth game of a day and we were super sloppy. Probably should have one the elite division but ran out of gas. None of the games were close except for the one loss at the end.

Brewtown Showdown- Rained out so technically a 3 way tie for first? We did not know we were competing in it til the day before and were missing lots of players.

Notre Dame- went 5 or 6 and 2. Both losses coming to Team Total. One was an embarrassing 15-3 loss and then in the playoffs a 7-4 loss. But in the playoffs we came off a fifteen minute overtime and had to sprint to the other field to start the next game. A lot of good games there.

Chicago Challenge- We won every game there handedly. Not really fair even. THis is where we qualified for Florida again.

This is the U-18 tournament results. I do not know how the U-16 team did. They may have qualified for the Dick's Tournament of Champions also.

I have to start by saying that I am new to the WI lax forums, but I have been posting my stringings and insight on the lacrosse forums for about a year; so to some of you this stringing may look familiar. If not, this is a heat pocket (which is essetially a slightly different rock-it pocket) which I used coils in the center portion of. In place of leathers, I used Stringer's Shack's synthetic runners, which are basically just thick strips of mesh that don't get affected as much as regular leathers in wet conditions.

I honestly don't think changing the specs for 2010 has done much, if anything to the performance of the sticks that are coming out. I think if anything, this will push people to be more innovative with the way they string their pockets; as a good stringer can negate any disadvantage of having to use a wider head if they really know what they're doing.
This being said, I really think the longer the 2010 head regulations are in place, the more people will resort to using some sort of traditional stringing, as this is by far the best way to have a wider stick feel tighter than it actually is. I know people out there are thinking "well, the leathers are going to get wet, and then the pocket's going to suck." To these people, I completely agree with you; but I should mention that there are companies out there that make "synthetic leathers," which are essentially thicker pieces of mesh you use in place of the leathers (and they aren't something like a girl's trakker pocket). I have been using these for the last season and they haven't stretched unevenly, and the pocket still is in as good, if not better condition to the ones I have used that are mesh. I know that stringing something more along the lines of traditional takes more time, and generally more maintenance, but again a skilled stringer can minimize, if not eliminate these problems if the pocket is well strung.
Sorry for the long rant, but that's my take on this whole issue.

Had a great time again this year. My Waukesha team finished 4th. We had alot of 1st year players so I was very happy with the way we played. The only bad part of the weekend was the poor sportsmanship on the Wayzata MN. team. Players dropping F- Bombs and their parents swearing at our parents . I guess I know where their kids get it from. But overall it was a great run Tournament and a great weekend of Lacrosse.

yes that is completely true about arrowhead. Every game i watched was individually played and maybe thats why they lost. Arrowhead never played a complete game from the first whistle to the last whistle, it was always up and down it seemed like. It disappointed me seeing that arrowhead had the potential to be the best team in state. Arrowhead never became a team
