Marquette won 10 - 4, or you could say James Tjarksen 6, Verona 4. Verona's goalie looked solid throughout and they had a few decent poles, but their offense didn't seem to produce. Marquette started out slow but Tjarkson stole the show, Dallman, and Sullivan also had nice outings. #9 (I don't recall his name) added a nice goal in the latter stages of the game. Marquette’s goalie also played well as did #6 LSM, and Dollar Bill. Marquette proved to be the superior team. Congrats to both teams for making it to the state championship, and especially to Marquette for winning their first title.

I also heard Arrowhead finished third beating Wausau 10 - 4 (I was told the half time score was 8-0, Wausau winning the second half 4-2)

Mad props to Marquette. They played an awesome game and deserved to win. Their defense did a pretty remarkable job of shutting our offense down. We would get the ball and minus our first possession of the game, would end up losing the ball after no more than a minute. Faceoffs and groundballs also proved to be key, it was about 50-50. They had a pretty solid offense. I don't think they have as much talent as Arrowhead necessarily, but they were extremely smart when they had possession and knew how to take advantage when the opportunity presented itself.

Let me clarify. When I wrote that I meant talent as in the sense to beat you one on one or rip a shot. Basically the flashy factor. So let me rephrase; Marquette is a very talented, just in a different way than Arrowhead. They'll beat you playing team ball where as Arrowhead will beat you individually.

Marquette really impressed me.  I thought they had better stick skills on offense then really any other team I'd seen all year with the exception of maybe Verona, who surprisingly, may have lost because they didn't have the sharpest sticks yesterday.

Congrats to both teams, who probably have the top two head coaches in the state, and will I'm sure be meeting in the championship again someday.

yes that is completely true about arrowhead. Every game i watched was individually played and maybe thats why they lost. Arrowhead never played a complete game from the first whistle to the last whistle, it was always up and down it seemed like. It disappointed me seeing that arrowhead had the potential to be the best team in state. Arrowhead never became a team

Is that not the point of the game it is a team game.  There is a reason there is a 2010 stick rule the concept of team has been lost in guys with extreme speed who can dodge and crank time and time again unstopped.  On top of that i don't see how you can make the point that MUHS has no flash factor his name is James Tjarkson he had easily 3 or 4 one on one dodges from X where he flashed past his pole buried in the net?
